BIESSE AT LIGNA 2017: FULL OF INNOVATIONS

INDUSTRIE 4.0 AND THE INTERNET OF THINGS

Ligna 2017 was a great success for our partner Biesse: the Italian firm attracted a lot of visitors on their 5000 m² of stand area. Between the crowd, some high-tech innovations stood out. A lot of the new machines/solutions were introduced for the first time during Ligna in Hal 11. An overview:

Industrie 4.0: THe Smart Factory

Industrie 4.0 is a collective term for new technologies and concepts within the knowledge and manufacturing economy. It refers in particular also to the advanced digitalization of the industry. The classic example: Biesse its Smart Factory. This connection of machines and robots completes wood panels from start to finish. Click here for more information and the corresponding video.

The Internet Of Things and Biesse: monitoring of your machines

With the ‘Internet of Things’ (IOT) everything is about the wireless connection between the machines. Biesse its Machine Knowledge Center illustrates this smart inter-mechanical communication perfectly: by continuously collecting information, the production process is optimized. The production process is from now on directed where necessary. More information about this principle can be found here.

Machinery innovations

During Ligna, Biesse introduced new expansions of her Italian machinery. Both the Rover K FT, Rover A Synchro and Akron 1400 + Stream A possess some high-tech features.
